Sabdamala is an educational institute that runs Nepali language classes in Sydney. Sabdamala commenced its operation on a weekly basis at the Marrickville West Public School from Term 2 onwards in 2010. The first Sabdamala orientation was held on the 18th of April 2010 and was attended by then prospective parents and students as well as members of the Nepalese community.
Due to increased demands for a school in Granville, Sabdamala began operating from two venues in 2011 at the Campsie Public School and Granville Public School on the 6th of February 2011. Enrolments have been variable at times with approximately 30 in Granville taught across 3 levels and 15 in Campsie taught in one group. At present, classes run every Sunday from 10am to 12 mid day at both locations. Approximately 45 children in the 5 to 12 age group bracket are currently engaged in these classes on a weekly basis. Class levels and sizes vary based on criteria such language ability and age. Approximately 10 academics are involved in week-to-week teaching on a regular basis and others are involved on a casual basis. The dedication of our academic staff has allowed us to provide more skill focused teaching from term 3 onwards.
